Former Oxfordshire scout leader jailed for sex attacks on two boys
Jailed: Gary Lane was locked up for 15 years after sex attacks on two boys
A perverted former scout leader has been jailed for 15 years following sex attacks on two boys.
Gary Lane, 52, of Kidlington, Oxfordshire, admitted two rape charges, sexual assault and causing a child to engage in sexual activity on two boys under 13 at Oxford Crown Court.
The abuse took place between January 1 and November 30 in 2015.
Following the sentencing, Rhys Bevan, of Thames Valley Police’s child abuse investigation unit, said: “Lane targeted these boys for his own sexual gratification, and it is down to the courage displayed by his victims in reporting the abuse that a conviction for his distressing crimes was secured.
“These victims were cruelly robbed of a normal childhood, and even though this sentence can never repair the damage caused by his heinous actions, I hope that the victims and their families can now try to move forward with their lives, knowing that this man is finally where he belongs.
“We continue to work with our partner agencies to make sure we’re consistently tackling sexual abuse in all its forms, and I hope that today’s result will help to reassure victims that we will always thoroughly investigate any reports of sexual abuse, and will do everything we can to bring those responsible to justice.”
