Charge case …….Breakfast TV star Paul Sadler charged with possessing more than 1,300 child abuse images
PAUL Sadler is best known for appearing in the Carpet Monster skit on Channel 4’s Big Breakfast in the 1990s.
But now the 53 year old has been charged with possessing more than 1,3000 child abuse images.
The TV personality was arrested after a search of his London home uncovered the images on laptops, a court heard.
Appearing at Hendon Magistrates Court, the star denied four counts of making an indecent image of a child.
The Daily Mail reported that 124 of the images fell into the most severe category for their explicit content.
Paul pleaded not guilty to making 70 “category B” images and not guilty to a separate count of making 1,205 “category C” images.
He also entered a not guilty plea to possessing a prohibited image of a child on March 25 this year.
All the other offences were alleged to have taken place on or before that date.
Defence counsel Nigel Richardson said: “It’s safe to say this was a joint computer used by a number of people.”
