Mohammed Shabir, of Ilford, jailed for convincing nine-year-old boy to perform a sex act on him in the middle of the street.
Mohammed Shabir, a Pakistani national from Ilford, has been jailed for inciting a child to perform a sex act on him.
A PAEDOPHILE has been jailed after he was caught abusing a nine-year-old boy in the street.
Mohammed Shabir, 49, of Ilford, was handed 10 months behind bars at Snaresbrook Crown Court yesterday (July 14).
He was arrested on March 25 after police officers spotted him with the child when they were looking at CCTV from another case in Ilford.
Looking closer they saw Shabir convincing the boy to perform a sex act on him near a parked car.
He admitted inciting a child to engage in sexual activity on June 29.
DI Laura Hillier of the Met Police’s sexual offences and child abuse command said: “Mohammed Shabir is a very dangerous offender.
“He targeted this young child and persuaded him to perform a sexual act on him in a public place during daylight hours.
“This is an unusual case where police were presented with video evidence of a sexual crime against a child whilst reviewing private CCTV for another case.
“Detectives actively searched and located the young child victim in this case who bravely recounted what had happened to him. He and his family are being supported by professionals.”
DC Kiran Bratch added: “The Metropolitan Police are committed to investigating any such offences committed against children and will strive to bring any offenders to justice.”
