A paedophile worked with vulnerable children in two Paisley schools.
David Peacock harboured an unhealthy obsession with young boys while helping care for pupils at Glencoats Primary and Paisley Grammar.
It’s emerged that the 52-year-old pervert was downloading shocking pictures of kids being abused while holding down a job as a classroom assistant for youngsters with special needs.
After he was brought to justice at Paisley Sheriff Court last week, anxious parents called for a full public investigation.
One shocked mum, who asked not to be named, told the Paisley Express: “It’s disgusting.
“We thought he was a respected family man. He should not have been allowed to work with young vulnerable children.
“I’m sick to my stomach at the fact he was with my child in a place I thought was safe.
“There needs to be a full investigation to make sure no children were put at risk.”
Another outraged parent, who we have chosen not to name, vented her fury on Facebook.
She posted: “To think this man worked in schools sickens me. Courts need to protect our children not the beasts.”
Her views were echoed by another mum who posted: “How the hell do these monsters slip through the net and manage to get a job working with children?”
The fiend accessed the disgusting images in 2013, but was only arrested in July last year and was taken out of the classroom.
The charges did not involve children from any of the schools Peacock worked at.
A sheriff last week told Peacock, of Johnstone, he was a ‘whisker’ away from being jailed after he admitted downloading 42 indecent images of children.
He was placed on the sex offender’s register for three years and placed on a community payback order with supervision and 250 hours of unpaid work.
Paisley Sheriff Court had previously heard how cops raided his home and found two laptops containing the sickening images.
A Samsung laptop was examined and contained 29 images, five at category A – the worst type – five at category B and 19 at category C.
The second black laptop was discovered to have 11 still indecent images on it, one at category A, one at category B and nine at category C. The overall figure included two duplicates.
The court heard how one of the worst images showed a boy aged between six and eight performing a sex act on an adult male.
Another sickening picture showed a boy between four and six lying naked on a bed with two men standing over him.
A Renfrewshire Council spokeswoman said that the local authority acted swiftly to remove Peacock from the classroom She said: “The council was made aware of the matter by Police Scotland. An investigation was launched and appropriate action was taken in line with Council policy. The employee no longer works with Renfrewshire Council.”
