One of Staffordshire’s youngest ever child rapists jailed for more than 7 years
Luke Alexander-Morrison was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court
One of Staffordshire’s youngest ever rapists has been jailed for seven-and-a-half years for sexual attacks on two schoolgirls.
Luke Alexander-Morrison was aged between 12 and 15 when he committed the heinous crimes.
Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard Alexander-Morrison, now aged 19, had raped a girl who was under 13 and sexually assaulted a second victim of a similar age.
Both girls needed counselling as a result of the assaults, and one was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.
Alexander-Morrison, of Leek, also admitted more recent offences involving a raft of obscene material involving children which was found on his computer.
The court heard it was discovered last year, when he was arrested for the rape and sexual assault offences.
Prosecutor Jennifer Josephs said: “The computer tower taken from his bedroom was where the majority of the images were found.
“He had distributed images on 24 occasions using Skype. He had also downloaded a paedophile manual.”
Police found 95 still and moving images of Category A – the most serious category – plus 101 of Category B and 103 of Category C. The material featured girl and boys.
Alexander-Morrison, who has no previous convictions, pleaded guilty to three charges of raping a child under the age of 13; sexual assault of a child under 13; six offences of making indecent photographs of a child; distributing indecent photographs of children; two offences of possessing an extreme pornographic image; and possessing a paedophile manual.
Adam Watkins, mitigating, said “Clearly this is a deeply troubling case. With the physical offending, we are dealing with offending committed when he was, at most, 15.”
Sentencing Alexander-Morrison to detention in a young offenders’ institution, Judge Paul Glenn said: “You have shown no victim empathy or awareness at all.
“The girl you raped has had her life turned upside down. It has had a profound effect on your second victim. You represent a high risk of further offending.”
An indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order restricting Alexander-Morrison’s future contact with children was also imposed.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “We are committed to investigating all reports of sexual offences.
“Such criminal activity is completely unacceptable in the communities we serve and we will continue to take action against those suspected of such crime.
“We would encourage victims of such offences, or anyone who suspects they are taking place, to come forward and report it to us on 101.”
