A paedophile from Hatfield has been jailed for 15 years after he was convicted of a string of nauseating sexual crimes.
Alban Shackleton, 53, of Stonecross Road was sentenced at St Albans Crown Court on Wednesday for 12 sexual offences and one charge of cruelty to a child.
The offences, which started in the late 1990s, involved both male and female victims, from the age of seven upwards.
He will be on the sex offenders register for life and has had his contact with young children restricted.
Raymond Janes of Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Historic Child Abuse Investigation Team, said: “The sentence given to Shackleton reflects the severity of his crimes.
“Hertfordshire Constabulary takes reports of this nature extremely seriously. We fully support victims and will do everything in our power to bring offenders to justice.
“We fully appreciate how difficult it can be to report abuse, particularly if it happened some years ago, but if you have been a victim, please call the police or the NSPCC.”
